The Santa Rosa Chapter of the Ninety-Nines was officially chartered in September 1972 with a membership of twelve. Since those beginning days, the chapter membership has grown to as much as 52 enthusiastic women pilots, and currently hovers consistently around 30 members. Over the past 38 years the chapter has participated in air races and sponsored proficiency races; has awarded thousands of dollars in scholarships to women pilots in the area; has participated in aerospace education and aviation outreach in the community; has volunteered in mercy missions and assisted relief organizations in providing critical supplies to distant communities. As a chapter, we continually look for new opportunities to promote and contribute to our aviation community.

The Santa Rosa Chapter also sponsors FAA safety programs, Pilot Proficiency Classes, aviation education for Girl Scout troops, Expanding Your Horizons, and promotes the upgrading of pilot skills and proficiency by hosting an annual Airplane Proficiency Excursion.

Volunteers from the 99s lend a hand at the annual PCAM Air Show, their biggest fund-raiser where they sell refreshments and have a Silent Auction and Raffle booth to raise money for the Chapter's Flight Scholarship. The 99s offers scholarships for advanced flight training to women pursuing careers in aviation.
